The New Normal

It has been a pleasure to return to Romsey Market on a Friday, reopened now, after its prolonged closure during the Coronavirus lockdown.
There has been a very considerate and friendly atmosphere, as people enjoy shopping again, while staying safe and adjusting to the "New Normal".

It has been encouraging, for me, to have done so much business since the reopening. Other traders also seem to have done well.

Perhaps Market Traders have benefited from being opened a couple of weeks before the shops, and I also suspect people may feel a little safer shopping in the open air.

My thanks go to Mark Hall, the Market Manager, and Mark Edgerley, the Town Centre Manager, who have done a great job of reorganising the Market layout, to allow for Social Distancing.

The Covid Lockdown has been such a difficult time, but I feel there is much to be optimistic about, so if you haven't already, get down to Romsey Market and support your local community of Traders!
