Having a home based business, I am always grateful for opportunities to let people know about my Picture Framing service. Apart from my weekly stall at Romsey Market (Friday), the only other event I regularly attend is the West Dean Village Fete. Yesterday was the big day! Because I live in West Dean, the Fete is a great way for me to engage with the many visitors and participants to this very popular annual show. As in previous years I made a small contribution towards setting up (erecting marquee tents etc.). There are however a good number of people in the village who voluntarily and selflessly put a great deal of hard work and energy into making the event the success it always is. The day was once again blessed with good weather. There was lots of entertainment and fun, for all the family, great food and drink and loads of bargains to be had at the plant, and book stalls among many others.
Although it makes for a long day, the Fete always leaves me feeling fortunate to live within such a vibrant and caring community.
